Affordable Care Act (ACA)

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) brings significant changes to how we access and pay for healthcare. Under the ACA, large employers are required to offer minimum essential coverage to employees who are considered full-time as defined by the ACA.

The ACA defines full-time [FT] employees as anyone employed by a given employer for an average of 30 or more hours per week (or 130 hours per month).

As an eligible employee for healthcare coverage under the ACA, you have the opportunity to participate in the GW Health Savings Plan (HSP) and Health Savings Account (HSA).  Please take some time to review the 2019 ACA Open Enrollment Guide (PDF), as well as the tools and resources listed below.

This year's ACA Open Enrollment will take place Monday, December 3, 2018, through Friday, December 14, 2018. Take the time to review your options; otherwise, you cannot make changes until the next Open Enrollment period unless you experience a Qualified Life Event (QLE), such as a change in marital status, the birth or adoption of a child, etc.
