Prescription Benefits

CVS Health

When you enroll in one of the medical plan options, you are automatically provided with prescription drug coverage through CVS Caremark. You have access to prescription medications through both retail pharmacies and mail-order program.

Prescription coverage for the GW Health Savings Plan and GW PPO Plan have differences, so be sure to consider your prescription drug needs with medical needs.

Note:  You will receive two separate ID cards for medical (UHC) and prescription (CVS Caremark) if you elect one of GW’s medical plans.

You can also fill your 90-day prescriptions at Target Pharmacies.  This means you have an additional 1,672 retail pharmacies across the U.S. where you can fill 90-day supplies of your long-term medicines. Stop by the pharmacy counter at any Target, and speak to the pharmacist about picking up your 90-day supplies at that location.

To find the closest Target pharmacy, including any of the more than 9,500 CVS/pharmacy locations, log into Caremark and use the Pharmacy Locator tool. In the next few months, you’ll start to see the CVS/pharmacy name at all Target pharmacy locations.  Enjoy this convenient new choice for your 90-day prescriptions!
