Adobe Creative Cloud

GW faculty and staff university-wide can enjoy free access to Adobe Creative Cloud, which includes Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Illustrator and more. Adobe Creative Cloud can be downloaded on university-owned or personal devices here.

Campus Dining

GW employees receive a 10% discount on all food purchased from J Street (Marvin Center), G-Dub Java (Duques Hall and Mount Vernon campus) and Ames Dining Room (Mount Vernon campus) when paying with their GWorld card. Campus Shuttle

GW provides convenient shuttles between the Virginia Science and Technology (VSTC) campus and the Foggy Bottom campus, as well as to the Wiehle-Reston East metro station (Silver Line in Virginia). The shuttle services are free for all GWorld cardholders (GWorld IDs must be presented to the shuttle driver while boarding). Capital Bikeshare Discount

GW faculty and staff are eligible for a discounted Capital Bikeshare annual membership of only $25. Enjoy all the perks of Capital Bikeshare membership for less than 50 cents a week!

Car Rentals

GW employees receive discounted pricing and insurance coverage at Enterprise Rent-a-Car and National Car Rental locations when they book through iBuy + Travel. GW also has a new car sharing program through Enterprise CarShare, which provides low rates for hourly rentals as well as a $10 reduced rate for first-year membership. Take charge of your healthcare with Castlight, a free service for GW employees, spouses and adult dependents covered through a university health plan. With Castlight, you can find a high-quality doctor for an affordable price; compare nearby physicians, facilities and medical services; review step-by-step explanations of past medical and pharmacy spending; and more!

Educational Seminars

Working at a university has many perks, one them being that you never have to stop being a student. GW employees have access to an array of health and financial seminars conducted online and in-person throughout the year. The full list of upcoming events may be found here.

Fitness Discounts

Get your fitness on! GW faculty and staff are eligible to receive special fitness discounts, including discounted membership rates at Lerner Health and Wellness Center in Foggy Bottom, The Fitness Equation at One Loudoun and all Washington Sports Clubs.

Free Group Exercise Classes

Each semester, GW faculty and staff are eligible for free group exercise classes, offered through the Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. Class offerings include yoga, hi intensity training (HIT) and Zumba. See the current semester's schedule of classes here


GW faculty and staff can use their GWorld cards to purchase fresh and local food at the Foggy Bottom FRESHFARM Market. The farmers market is located on Eye Street NW, between 24rd and 24th Streets, and is open on Wednesdays from 3 p.m to 7 p.m (April through November). 

Group Home and Auto Discounts

GW is pleased to offer Group Home and Auto discounts, through Liberty Mutual. Participants receive preferred pricing on home and auto insurance packages, including discounts of up to 10 percent on auto and 5 percent on home, renters and condo insurance. GW Bookstore Discount

The GW HealthAdvocate Program is an independent healthcare advocacy and assistance company that offers individuals and their families personalized, expert help to navigate the healthcare and insurance systems to save time and money.


As a GW employee, you can enjoy remote access to GW library electronic resources, in addition to admission to the three library buildings located at the Foggy Bottom, Mount Vernon and VSTC campuses.

Learn new work skills from the convenience of your computer or mobile device with lynda.com, an online video training platform that provides thousands of regularly updated courses in topics such as design, leadership, business and software applications (with new courses added every week). Access to lynda.com is available to the GW community at no cost. Learn more here

Metro and Parking 

Save money on your daily commute with the SmartBenefits program. Participants can set aside pre-tax dollars from each paycheck to be credited to a WMATA SmarTrip card, which can be used to pay for work-related commuting expenses including Metrorail, Metrobus and Metro parking.

Faculty and staff can also set aside pre-tax dollars from each paycheck for off-campus and occasional on-campus parking expenses up to the IRS limit of $255 per month. You may enroll, make deduction changes and terminate participation via go.gwu.edu/EasyEnroll. Claims may be submitted to PayFlex for reimbursement for parking expenses paid by cash, check, personal credit card or GWorld card.

Personal Mobile Device Plans

GW employees and students are eligible for mobile discounts of up to 18% (and 25% for mobile accessories) from AT&T, Sprint and Verizon. If you already have a plan with one of these three providers, you are still eligible for the discount. Just contact your provider and mention that you are a GW employee – it’s that simple. Quit For Life®

With the American Cancer Society's Quit For Life® smoking cessation program, you or an eligible dependent can overcome physical, psychological and behavioral addictions to tobacco through a customized quitting plan, coaching and a supportive online community.

Self Defense Classes

The George Washington University Police Department (GWPD) offers free self defense classes for GW students, faculty and staff. These courses teach participants how to become more aware of their surroundings and be prepared in the case of a violent attack or sexual assault. Courses are available for both men and women. Super Shuttle

GW employees can enjoy Super Shuttle discounts of $2 off one-way trips and $5 off round-trips from 29 airports nationwide. Participants may take advantage of this discount by entering GW’s Group/Discount Code (GCJ8R) when booking trips on Super Shuttle’s website.


GW employees can enjoy airline discounts on carriers Delta, Southwest and United when they book through iBuy + Travel. All airline discounts negotiated by the university for business travel can be used by employees for leisure travel. Learn more here

UHC Healthy Pregnancy Program

If you are pregnant and covered under a GW health plan, you are eligible (and encouraged) to participate in the UHC Healthy Pregnancy Program at no cost. Participants gain access to 24-hour toll-free call support from experienced nurses, pregnancy and childbirth educational materials, post-natal kits, individual consultation and more. You may also earn financial incentives for participating in the program. 

Verizon Fios
