Campus Dining

GW employees receive a 10 percent discount on all food purchased from J Street (Marvin Center), G-Dub Java (Duques Hall and Mount Vernon campus) and Ames Dining Room (Mount Vernon campus) when paying with their GWorld card. Campus Shuttle

GW provides convenient shuttles between the Virginia Science and Technology (VSTC) campus and the Foggy Bottom campus, as well as to the Wiehle-Reston East metro station (Silver Line in Virginia). The shuttle services are free for all GWorld cardholders (GWorld IDs must be presented to the shuttle driver while boarding). Learn more about shuttle schedules and locations of stops.

Capital Bikeshare Discount

GW faculty and staff are eligible for a discounted Capital Bikeshare annual membership of only $25. Enjoy all the perks of Capital Bikeshare membership for less than 50 cents a week!

Car Rentals

Educational Seminars

Fitness Discounts

Get your fitness on! GW faculty and staff are eligible to receive special fitness discounts, including discounted membership rates at Lerner Health and Wellness Center in Foggy Bottom, The Fitness Equation at One Loudoun and all Washington Sports Clubs.

Free Group Exercise Classes

Each semester, GW faculty and staff are eligible for free group exercise classes, offered through the Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. Class offerings include yoga, hi intensity training (HIT) and Zumba. See the current semester's schedule of classes.


GW faculty and staff can use their GWorld cards to purchase fresh and local food at the Foggy Bottom FRESHFARM Market. The farmers market is located on Eye Street NW, between 24rd and 24th Streets, and is open on Wednesdays from 3 p.m to 7 p.m (April through November). 

Group Home and Auto Discounts

GW is pleased to offer Group Home and Auto discounts, through Liberty Mutual. GW Speech and Hearing Center

The Center provides a full range of speech, language, and hearing services, from infants to senior citizens, with communicative and auditory needs at an affordable cost. GW Students, Alumni, Faculty, and Family Members receive a 50% discount off services. For audiology services, they offer 50% off all service costs, not including device or product purchase. Audiology services include comprehensive hearing evaluations, cochlear implant evaluations, aural rehabilitation therapy (adult and pediatric), and ear wax removal. Hearing aids are dispensed as well as related products from over eight different companies. Metro and Parking 

Save money on your daily commute with the SmartBenefits program. Participants can set aside pre-tax dollars from each paycheck to be credited to a WMATA SmarTrip card, which can be used to pay for work-related commuting expenses including Metrorail, Metrobus and Metro parking.

Faculty and staff can also set aside pre-tax dollars from each paycheck for off-campus and occasional on-campus parking. You may enroll, make deduction changes and terminate participation via go.gwu.edu/EasyEnroll. Claims may be submitted to PayFlex for reimbursement for parking expenses paid by cash, check, personal credit card or GWorld card.

Pet Insurance

Self Defense Classes

The George Washington University Police Department (GWPD) offers free self defense classes for GW students, faculty and staff. These courses teach participants how to become more aware of their surroundings and be prepared in the case of a violent attack or sexual assault. Courses are available for both men and women. UHC Healthy Pregnancy Program

If you are pregnant and covered under a GW health plan, you are eligible (and encouraged) to participate in the UHC Healthy Pregnancy Program at no cost. Participants gain access to 24-hour toll-free call support from experienced nurses, pregnancy and childbirth educational materials, post-natal kits, individual consultation and more. You may also earn financial incentives for participating in the program. 

Verizon Fios

Bring home the fastest internet available, at a discount.
